About :
During the Hyères Festival, Justin Morin will share his vision of the universe of fashion, a vision both intimate and iconic, in the setting of the rooms of Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles. “Beside the Glittering” compares the glamour of the Fashion world with the reality of an organized and pragmatic sector. The scintillating images reproducing the logos of major luxury brands sit along side of the portraits of market players, both anonymous and famous. Still-life compositions decorate the walls, displaying theme variations from leather goods to cosmetic. “Beside the Glittering” demonstrates the polarities of Fashion, through scintillating glamour and creative figures.
Using sequin-strewn adhesives or industrially embroidered cotton, Justin Morin plays with the processes and material of the world of fashion. Although, despite his passion for fashion, he never became e fashion designer himself, Justin Morin loves to play with needle and thread. Challenging tradition with relish, this young artist has created a contemporary style of embroidery, applying industrial processes whenever manual talent fails. He views thread as magic ink, deeply penetrating material surfaces.
